Documentary: "Care"

"Care" is a documentary in production by filmmaker Deirdre Fishel. In this film Deirdre exposes the deep flaws in the U.S. eldercare system by telling the intimate stories of three amazing, but underpaid home health aids. The film sounds the alarm about an expoited workforce, and aging population, and an impending care crisis. 

I spent two days with Deirdre photographing Vilma who is taking care Dee- a client she is very close to. Vilma is loving and caring, and Dee is kind and funny. While they are close, Vima's hours are long and underpaid, and she is away from family she loves.
